The Rest is Pixels is an independent site launched in April 2026 by Chris Gill, an aged editor / photographer / walker / birdwatcher based in Exeter, UK.

I'm also an ex-skier, and made my living for 40 years or more producing ski resort guidebooks with titles including the words Where to Ski. More recently I have embarked on production of map-based guides to long-distance paths called WalkPlanners. I'm now working on map-based guides for birders in the UK, and on a radical new user guide for Fujifilm x-h2 cameras.

In due course I plan to produce newsletters related to these activities, and by subscribing to this site you're putting yourself on the list to get them.
